Kali Audio WS-6.2 Self Powered Subwoofer 6.5” 400W RMS Black
+GIFT 1 Piece EQ Acoustics Classic Wedge 60 Sound Absorbing Foam Panel !!
The WS-6.2 is an active studio subwoofer with two horizontally opposed 6.5-inch woofers. Occupying less than half the space of comparable performance subwoofers, it is ideal for stereo mixing setups where space is at a premium.
The WS-6.2 is tailored to accompany Kali's LP and IN-Series monitors, but will also integrate well with almost any pair of studio monitors.
Small size, huge sound
The WS-6.2 is slightly larger than an 8-inch studio monitor, making it the perfect choice for placing under your desk or in other tight spaces. The horizontally opposed woofers in the WS-6.2 have as much radiation area as a 10-inch woofer, but in a much smaller package.
As an added bonus, the configuration of the woofers cancels pure vibration, so the subwoofer doesn't ring, hum or rattle, even at high SPLs.
IO & Control
With 120 dB max SPL, the WS-6.2 will be more than enough for most stereo setups and will work well in small multi-channel setups as well. If more SPLs are needed, a second WS-6.2 can be added without taking up too much space. You can also see the use of the larger WS-12 subwoofer.
The WS-6.2 features balanced inputs for XLR or TRS cables, as well as unbalanced RCA inputs.
You can use the 80Hz crossover if you are using the subwoofer to extend the low-end response of your monitors, use the LFE mode to feed the subwoofer a dedicated LFE channel, or turn the crossover off and use an external crossover for more customization . The 80 Hz crossover is intended for use with Kali studio monitors, but will work well with monitors from most popular manufacturers.
When using the 80 Hz crossover, the high pass signal will be sent through the XLR outputs. The WS-6.2 has a footswitch jack that will let you turn off the subwoofer, and the XLR outputs will send a full-range signal to studio monitors. Footswitches are sold separately and are available at most music retailers.
PORT TUBE
Like Kali Audio's full-range monitors, the WS-6.2 includes a front-firing port tube that prevents noise and compression.
In most port tubes, air leaves at different speeds from different parts of the opening, creating noisy turbulence. This turbulence can be heard as a "whoosh" or an audible sound of air coming from the screen. This sound will add to the noise floor and hide the low end details.
The port tube on the WS-6.2 was designed to ensure that all air leaves the port tube at the same speed. This contributes to the low-end response of the speaker while keeping the bass clear, tight and free of extra noise.
